Online Qualifiers
Online Qualifers will be hosted at a national-level to identify top young talent from across the United Kingdom. The qualifiers will comprise of a jeopardy-style Capture-The-Flag (CTF) competition hosted across a one week period. Technical metrics will allow us to select the top forty persons to join us in the live final in May.

Live Final
We will host a live final day-competition for the Top 40 finalists. The final will be hosted at a partner venue, where finalists will compete in another jeopardy-style competition whilst being observed by our carefully selected assessors from across industry. Finalists will be assessed on a combination of technical and interpersonal skills, including their ability to work in an in-person competition environment as part of a team. By the end of the final, a “Top 10” team with an additional two reserves will be selected to represent the United Kingdom at the ECSC 2026

Dedicated Training
The final UK Cyber Team will undergo a dedicated training programme from May onwards to prepare them for the ECSC in October. A combination of online and in-person training, the team will undergo bespoke training designed to compliment the selected team’s skillsets. In this phase, multiple training partners will support industry-led training sessions in partnership with our academic partners. The team can expect at least two in-person training events, and three online training sessions. During this phase we also expect multiple “friendly” competitions between the UK and other participating countries from the ECSC.

ECSC 2026
The team will fly to Germany to participate in the 2026 edition of the ECSC. Although the competition is a two-day event, we expect a competition itinerary of approximately five days to account for travel, preparation days, and the award ceremony.
